Capital Kitchen : Review

"Capital Kitchen is a manifestation of the indulgence in food and pride in hospitality."
Yesterday was the launch party of Capital Kitchen At Madhapur, Hyderabad and I'd like to thank Divek Agrawal and Hriday Agarwal for inviting me to the beautiful restaurant.

Capital Kitchen is a multi-cuisine restaurant with a variety of felicitous dishes to choose from. With the fine dining experience comes the great service by the staff at Capital Kitchen. I've a sweet tooth wherefore I liked the desserts the best. My favorite being the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse.

If only i could eat more than 4 cheesecakes at one go, haha. The types of falafels served were very impressive and so was the dressing of the salads.

A few of my friends accompanied me to the restaurant and all of them were very positive about the dining experience.
The ambiance was perfect to click Instagram material pictures, haha.

Jokes apart, the ambiance was very delightful.
Overall, I'd give Capital Kitchen a thumbs up!
Guys, I'd suggest y'all to at least try it once and send me back your feedback on doshisanika4@gmail.com

Love

Isn't love the most beautiful feeling in this world?
Too cliché, right?
We're humans and we make mistakes, that's our saving grace. We get annoyed, we get jealous, we put our ego on a pedestal. I think it is what that affects our relationships and not love. Even apart from this, I can think of a million things that affect relationships- distance, social lives, busy work schedules and whatnot. Love is flawless, it is us who make it imperfect.
To me, love is a simple concept: unconditional care towards each other and nothing but affection. If only we'd keep our ego aside and tell each other everything, it would be so much easier, wouldn't it? Over the past few months, I've learnt that the more we try to keep our feelings in the dark, the worse it gets. Then, why do we tend to hide our feelings? What are we afraid of? Rejection, is it? What we don't understand is that you cannot make someone love you, if they don't. You cannot make their heart feel something that they cant.
It is a natural feeling and manipulating it, is like manipulating nature and that is not right. It'll take time to form a bond of 'love'. We need to understand that you cannot fall in love with someone in minutes, it takes time. It takes time to develop the feelings of 'affection'. Being rejected can be the "fall" in "falling in love". And it's fine. Without risks, there is no love.
I'm no 'love guru' but I do know that love will overpower all emotions and we all will have our happy endings.
Love isn't sad, love isn't difficult- love is being content, love is beautiful.

Monsoon fashion tips

Hello there,
The weather is changing and so will the fashion.
The whimsical one brings to you a few fashion tips for this monsoon season

Fabric - The humidity during the rainy season is very high and the best fabric to absorb the moisture is cotton. Prefer wearing cotton clothes and light blends of lycra to avoid sweat patches.

Colours - Wear light colours like yellow , blue and green. These colours will bring out the best in you this season

No sheer clothes - Try to avoid sheer clothing as they tend to reveal your body once it is wet and happen to look obscene.

Length - Try and pair everything with not more than ankle length bottoms. The shorter the bottoms are the more you can jump in puddles 😂

Footwear - Go with converse shoes as they are trendy and comfortable and suit best for this weather.

Raincoats and umbrellas- Match your umbrella and raincoat to look cuter than you already are!

Make-up tips :
Make your lipstick last longer with translucent powder : This trick works in every season. No matter which lipstick you use, the lipstick tends to start wearing out within 5 hours. This trick helps to make it last longer. All you need to do is, dab some translucent powder with the help of some tissue paper over your lipstick and you're good to go!

Discard the layers - Avoid using BB creams and foundations instead switch to a feather-light mousse that'll help you look less cakey

Concealer beneath everything - Concealer will grease your lips, eyes, cheeks, everything. Apply concealer to avoid creases!

Use waterproof mascara and eyeliner - You dont want to get wet in the rain with mascara dripping down your face or smudging your liner. Hitherto, switch to waterproof makeup.

Powder blush over cream - Powder blush will be your second layer and to avoid the moisture to create creases. Powder it up, girls!

The shit story

You know how everyone has those memories? The ones which, whenever you think about, make you cringe internally? Maybe even kill yourself a little bit? Yeah. This is one of those memories. It was back in the 9th grade when the most embarrassing moment of my life took place. I was embarrassed in front of the whole school. You must be assuming by now that i must have slipped or fell really bad and don't I wish it were as simple as that. Someone shit on me. Yes, you read it right! A crow shat on me and to make it worse, a crow shat on me while i was giving a speech to all my fellow school mates. My right ear and hair was covered in shit while I continued rendering the speech. Yes, i did not stop talking. Initially, I didn't realize that something had happened until the moment my ear started to feel a burning sensation. The shit was hot, literally. Amidst all the students laughing at the situation, I started laughing too. It is the funniest thing that has ever happened to me. I still think of this incident and have a great laugh

My biggest fear

Fear - an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.

"You're so confident." "I want to be as strong as you." I happen to be a very confident person with a bold personality. Discernibly, I get the above phrases a lot. Ironically, my biggest perturbation is of not being 'good enough'.
I have a compulsive need of pleasing everybody around me because I'm terrified of the thought that one day, someone who is close to me will decide that ' I'm not a worthy friend' or I couldn't keep up with their expectations. I've been hurt. I've been hurt , a lot for the way I used to be but as time is passing by I can see myself becoming a better person both emotionally and mentally. I know how it feels to be left out or to be used and I cannot go through the same rollercoaster of emotions. I want to be 'talented enough' , I want to be ' beautiful enough' , I want to be ' good enough.' I've promised myself that one day I'll be all those things and I'd put all my heart and soul into whatever I do

Anorexia is not a fashion statement , it's a disorder.

Before I write anything further, I want to make it clear that this blog post does not target anybody who is size 0, it is just my opinion about how everybody is beautiful.
"Anorexia is not a fashion statement, it's a disorder."

In today's world of fast communication, magazines portray or expect women to be meticulous 24x7. An ideal woman is considered to be tall, clear skinned, have big breasts with a nice ass and be a size-0 but let's take a moment and ask ourselves what being beautiful really is? I googled the definition of beautiful and the answer that popped up was-
"PLEASING THE SENSES OF MIND AESTHETICALLY."
There is no mention of being size-0. Then, what really has put the idea of a beautiful woman in people's mind?
In my opinion, it is the magazines and brands that have changed the mentality of people. I want you all to accept the fact that magazines are usually photoshopped and clothes are made for people of all sizes. Somebody can be genetically thin or have a fast metabolism. There is no need to try and compete with the person who fits into a smaller size to look 'Beautiful'.
Don't be beautiful like her, be beautiful like YOU!
Each one of us is unique and we are all worth more than being just a copy. I don't suggest that one must stop exercising to not be anorexic, NO! Exercising makes you fit and there is no harm in being fit. Don't change to please anyone instead, accept your body the way it is because why would we try to change God's own creation.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YES, YOU!!

How to get over someone :

Most of us face the challenge of falling in and out of 'love' but only a handful of us can cope up with the drama and emotional setback of letting go of someone.
I , Sanika Doshi presents to you a few tips to get over someone.

1. Love yourself :

After a break up , most of us feel that we aren't good enough or that we cant make people stay in our life but that is not true. nobody has the power to demean you or fill your head with negative thoughts just because the two of you dint last. So before feeling bad about not having that one person around , love yourself. After all , you're the architect of your own destruction and retention. Be wise :)

2. Focus on yourself :

Remember that diet plan or the exercise schedule you made for yourself a little while ago ? its time to dust it off and work up to your full potential . Put all your efforts into making yourself a better person , not for anyone but yourself . Remember , you've got potential in you , dont let it go down the drain.

3. Meditate :

most of you will skip this step but trust me meditating for 5 minutes can make a huge difference . It is proven that , if your mind is at peace , you tend to be more positive and healthy than usual.

4. Vent it out :

Doesn't letting out always help? Yes,it does. Then what is stopping you from expressing your emotions about the break up you're going through ? Call a friend up , talk to them or go see a counsellor . That'll help you cope with your emotional break-down

5. Write about it :

There are times when venting out isn't enough it is then when writing will become your best friend. Write about your emotions , the way we feel and the way want to feel. This is going to help you so much.

6. Cut off the memories :

Memories are one of the most robust links that stops us from moving on .  Burn the bridges to create some distance . Throw all the stuff away that remind you of that person because as long as you hold onto them , they'll be an obstacle .

7. Do not 'Hook up' :

"Dont get under someone to get over the one." Don't be stupid and go around hooking up because at the end of the day you'll be the one at loss. Hooking up will only hurt you and will not help you find a conclusion or build your relationship, 'no-strings-attached' doesnt exist.

8.Take your time :

Moving on takes time , it doesn't happen in a week or two. It might take months for you to get over someone but one day you'll wake up and feel nothing about it. You'll move on , chill. Don't beat yourself about taking more time than usual about not being to able to move on at another person's pace.

9. Closure :

Its pretty self explanatory , so get up and get yourself some closure and put a full stop to it for once and for all.

10. Spend time with your loved ones :

After losing someone who we are emotionally attached to , we tend to isolate ourselves from the ones that truly care about us. Be with someone that wont leave your side come what may. Spend time with your fam-bam , friends and your social group that'll keep your mind off of the not-so-happy experiences of your life.

I hope this will help you move on faster and make your life easier .

Summer'16 - Part 1

Summer is my favourite time of the year. Skin gets darker, drinks get colder, nights get longer, life gets better.
I am a typical chick with a summer bucket list. I managed to tick most of the items off. Let me take you through my summer of 2016:
My summer stared with a failed girls trip, haha.
A couple of my friends and I had planned to take a trip to Mumbai and it failed miserably but a friend, Manoghnya and I did manage to pull it off. What is the most beautiful thing I saw in Mumbai, you ask? The sunset by the sea. I love how people take sometime off of their busy lives and gaze at the sunset, be it for second.
The street food is delicious, the vada pao walas and the bhel puri walas make Mumbai even more special. The food is available at such cheap rates, my favourite vada pav wala is Anil's vada Pav opposite to Mithibai so if y'all ever happen to visit Mumbai and want to savour the taste of vada pav's you know where to go. The street markets are full of venders trying to get you to by their goods, I got a pair of amazing shoes for ₹200- YESSS, ₹200. We went to the 145 cafe at Kala Ghoda and oh my, it was beautiful. The vibe was just amazing. We also did explore another sheesha place called 'Carters Blue'. The place itself looked like an Arab place, so full of life and of course amazing sheesha. It was one heck of a trip. Here are a few pictures of my time in Mumbai:
